Business Plan

PBH is developing its 3 year Local Business Plan for the Division of Mental health. The plan will cover the 2007 to 2010 period, and will identify new services and strategies for developing those services. Our local business planning process will help us learn from our community stakeholders, what services and supports are needed to improve the system of care for people with mental illness, developmental disabilities and substance abuse problems.

As a pilot program, PBH has been a leader in developing managed behavioral healthcare services. Our new Medicaid Waiver has facilitated this by enabling us to achieve significant savings in Medicaid funding. PBH plan to redirect these savings towards the development of new and innovative community services. We will be holding community focus groups and steering committee meetings in the near future to obtain feedback from our community stakeholders. We look forward to your participation.

This webpage will offer announcements regarding community meetings and other valuable information about PBH’s progress in developing its Local Business Plan. We would like to invite you to email us with your written remarks. Please forward all comments to:

Managing a System of Care for Children and Adults with Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Disorders

The PBH model is becoming more and more identified with success in the context of statewide reform. There is widespread interest in our model including that of the North Carolina General Assembly. While we have many miles yet to walk, we have developed a solid infrastructure and we operate a highly functional system of care for consumers.
